Stained Glass
Working and creating art with stained glass is a most gratifying experience for Diane. She translates some of the detail she uses in her illustration and portrait work into her stained glass designs using the fantastic colors and textures found in the glass itself. One has to consider the light in which the piece will be viewed and choose the colors and glass accordingly. Her designs are all original creations, done from nature and photographs. Diane uses the Tiffany copper foil method which allows her to cut smaller pieces and thus get more detail in the glass design.
Stained Glass "Fairy Lanterns"
These stained glass Fairy Lanterns are created from a simple idea of a pyramid shape made of stained glass. The original design was of a Christmas tree with scalloped branches and glass nuggets for ornaments. You can choose the colors of the stained glass and the size of the lantern you want. They are all custom designed and one of a kind.
Diane subsequently had the idea of creating stained glass lanterns with the 12 Days of Christmas theme, so starting off with day one, there is the Partridge in a Pear Tree with an accompanying stained glass sun catcher. The next one is the day two stained glass lantern, Two Turtle Doves, with the stained glass sun catcher to pair with it. The rest of the 12 Days stained glass lanterns will be introduced through this year and next.
More designs for stained glass lanterns will be added in the future. You can also consult with Diane about creating your own one-of-a-kind stained glass lantern design, something that you can enjoy all year ‘round if you prefer. The possibilities are endless….
